Graduates' Fields of Work

Career Fields for Graduates with a bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition (Arabic and English Sections):

  • Graduates have opportunities to work in governmental, private, and investment hospitals, treatment centers, research institutes, and research centers. They can also work in institutions that provide nutrition services to groups such as elderly homes, university dormitories, nurseries, maternal and childcare centers, schools, factories, prisons, shelters, orphanages, sports clubs, ministries, and agencies that offer nutritional status assessments, prepare and implement nutrition education programs, and develop nutrition policies for both health and disease conditions.

Scientific degrees awarded

  • The duration of study to obtain the bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science is four academic years (eight academic levels) for all departments. The study is conducted over two semesters per year using the credit hour system.
  • Upon successful completion of the required study program in the field of specialization and passing 131 credit hours, Helwan University shall award, upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Nutrition Science Council, the bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science in one of the following specializations:

      1. Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science, specialization: Clinical Nutrition (Arabic Section).

      2. Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science, specialization: Clinical Nutrition (English Section).

 

Note: This bachelor's degree does not qualify the holder to obtain any license to open clinics or medical centers.

Language of instruction

  • Instruction at the Faculty of Nutrition Science is conducted in Arabic, except for the English section of the Clinical Nutrition Department, where the medium of instruction is English.
  • For each specialization taught in Arabic, the respective academic department must designate at least one specialized course to be taught in English. In addition, scientific terminology for each course is taught in English as part of the course content.
