Seminar About: "First Aid"

The Faculty of Nutrition Science at Helwan University organized a seminar titled "First Aid" on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, as part of the university’s efforts to promote health awareness among students and the wider community. The event was held under the patronage of Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Helwan University, and supervised by Dr. Naeem Rabeh, Dean of the Faculty. The session was delivered by Dr. Saeed Qeshta, Director of the Therapeutic Unit at the Faculty.

The seminar covered several essential topics, including:

• The importance of first aid in quickly responding to accidents and emergencies before professional medical care is available.
• Practical training on first aid techniques, such as how to handle wounds, burns, fractures, and choking incidents.
• Initial procedures for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and managing sudden cardiac emergencies.

The seminar also addressed:

• How to treat injuries in children and the elderly.
• How to provide urgent care until medical services arrive.
• Raising awareness about the importance of having a first aid kit in homes, cars, and workplaces to ensure quick response to emergencies.

The seminar aimed to:

• Educate students on the fundamentals of first aid so they can respond appropriately in critical situations.
• Promote a culture of safety and awareness among students.
• Encourage them to share this knowledge within their communities.
• Enhance preparedness for handling emergencies both on campus and in the broader community.
