b. The weight of scores calculations based on the followings:
The average student gets from the total points of the courses he/she studied, and it is calculated on the basis of the total points of all courses registered during the previous academic periods, to calculate the average divided by the total number of credit hours registered during the previous periods, to the nearest two decimal places, according to the following mathematical equation:
Total points for all registered course in the term
GPA = ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
Total number of CH registered in the term
c. The cumulative grade/GPA is calculated as follows:
The average of what the student obtains from the total points of the courses he studied, and is calculated on the basis of the total points of all courses registered during the previous academic periods, to calculate the average divided by the total number of credit hours registered during the previous periods to the nearest two decimal places, according to the following mathematical equation:
Total points for all registered course in previous periods
CGPA = ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
Total number of CH registered in previous periods
d. Honors are awarded to the student upon graduation, provided that the average points of any academic level are not less than (2.7) and the study period does not exceed four years and the student has not failed in any course during the years of study.
A student may move from one academic level to another at the beginning of the academic year, depending on the number of credit hours they have completed, as follows:
Academic level | The number of credit hours that the student must pass |
Level 1 | Up to 28 hours |
Level 2 | From 29 hours to 60 hours |
Level 3 | From 61 hours to 92 hours |
Level 4 | From 93 hours to 131 hours |
A student's overall grade is calculated based on their cumulative grade point average (GPA) according to the following table:
(%) | Number of points | Degree |
87 to 100 | 3.3 and above | Excellent |
77 to less than 87 | 2.3 to less than 3.3 | Very good |
73 to less than 77 | From 2 to less than 2.3 | Good |
From 60 to less than 73 | From 1.3 to less than 2 | Pass |
Less than 60 | Less than 1.3 | Low |
